Delta 2019: Warri South West Political Group Endorses Chief Izoukumor For House Of Assembly

The Warri South West Political Alliance (WSWPA), a socio-political group, has endorsed the Commissioner representing the Ijaw Ethnic Nationality, on the Board of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Chief Favour Izoukumor, as the representative of the Warri South West Constituency, in the Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA), for the 2019 general elections.

The group disclosed this on Saturday, February 24, 2018, after the inauguration of its members at the BB Hotel in Warri, Delta State amidst attendance by a large crowd of its followers, who was at venue to witness the inauguration ceremony.

Those inaugurated as exco members of the group  were; Hon, Solomon Eyione, National Coordinator; Newman Ekpo, Deputy Coordinator; Prince Meshach Bebenimibo, Secretary General; Mr. Fortune Agbajor, Assistant Secretary; Francis Yiki, Adviser; Francisca E. Dauzigha, Woman Leader; Hon. Sam Okofuroh;

Others also inugurated, were; Comrade Seth Douperegha, Mobiliser; Bemigho Agbajor, Mobiliser; Favour Uduaghan, Treasurer; Hon. Oliver Mala, Spokesman; Tony Utuedor, Communications; Simon Seiwei, Ex-officio member and Edgar Bibogha, also as an Ex-Officio member.

Mr. Vincent Tamaraebi Ubebe performed the inauguration of the members by administering the oath of service on them, and thereafter, congratulated them.

The Chairman of the occasion, Elder Paul Ukuli , urged the inaugurated members of WSWPA to be focused and not lose hope, while also admonishing them to work collectively towards the achievement of their mandate.

The National Coordinator, Hon. Solomon Eyione, while delivering the inaugural address appreciated the honour given to him and claimed that the group was a unifying platform working towards supporting credible candidates for the 2019 elections in the state.

His words; “I am most honoured and delighted to stand before you today, as the newly inaugurated National Coordinator of this unique group known,  as the Warri South West Political Alliance (WSWPA). This socio-political organization was positioned towards bringing the Ijaws and Itsekiris together for the purpose of adopting, endorsing and working for the election of credible personalities into political offices.”

Hon, Eyione, pledged to work in collaboration with others to see to the re-election of Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa and his deputy, Barr. Kingsley Burutu Otuaro, as well as the adoption of the Chief Favour to represent the constituency in the House of Assembly.

“We will as a matter of necessity, massively mobilise the grassroots towards supporting our amiable Governor, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa and his Deputy, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro in the 2019 governorship election, for a second term in office.

He continues; “We will as a matter of necessity ensure that Chief Favour Izoukumor, the Commissioner representing the good people of Ijaw Ethnic Nationality on the Board of DESOPADEC, who is a detribalized grassroots politician and unifying factor in the Warri South West Local Government Area, to be elected under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to represent the good people of Warri South West Constituency in the Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA) come, 2019.”

The group also noted that the Commissioner has performed excellently well, hence their overwhelming support for  him for the exalted position.

The group listed his achievements to include several projects execution, which include youths and women empowerment.

Also listed were the sand-filling/reclamation of Ijansa community, which have been completed, as well as the  ongoing construction of four units of 4- bedroom bungalow, in Okerenkoko .

The  supply of W23 speed boats with 200HP Yamaha engines to Odidi and Batan communities and Passport 19 to Ogbe-Ijoh community, were among the projects attributed to him.

Others stated  were;  the ongoing construction of concrete landing jetty at Ajuju community as well as the ongoing construction of concrete landing jetty,in Enebogbene community. Other ongoing projects listed as his achievements include the construction of a slipway at Ogbe-Ijoh community, the  construction of a hostel complex at Kokodiagbene community and other enviable projects, completed or ongoing in the various communities.

In a dramatic fashion, that is reminiscent of a democratic house setting, the group declared its unequivocal support for his candidacy; “We unanimously adopt Senator Dr, Ifeanyi Okowa and his Deputy, Barr. Kingsley Otuaro for a second tenure and we also want to unequivocally, move a motion for the endorsement of Chief Favour Izoukumor , for the House of Assembly seat in Warri South West,  come 2019. Those in support of the motion, say ‘I’, those against say, ‘Nay’. The ‘I’s have it.”
