Dekawei blows hot over underdevelopment of Ijaw communities, says we will disappoint Okowa in 2019

…He has total hatred for Ijaw people

Comrade John Dekawei, President, Delta Ijaw Youths Movement for Political Advancement (DIYMPA), has accused Delta State governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, of not having the interest of Ijaw people in the state.

In a statement he made available to GbaramatuVoice, Comrade Dekawei stressed that Delta State Government under the leadership of Dr. Okowa “has total hatred for the Ijaw speaking people in the state.”

According to him, “the Delta State Government recently approved the reconstruction and rehabilitation of seventy roads across the state, none was sited in the Ijaw areas. I want to tell the governor categorically, as Ijaw people, we will only support a politician that has the interest of Ijaw people.

“We have seen obviously that Okowa administration does not have the interest of Ijaw people. Ordinary Ogbe-Ijoh and Aladja crisis, Okowa cannot solve.

“He has to do something fast, or else we will disappoint him in 2019. Ijaws in Burutu, Bomadi, Patani, Warri North and South West has nothing to show for his four years in office.

“He cannot use the Ijaws all the time to achieve his political aims and neglect them. We are ready for him. If nothing is done, we will disappoint Okowa in 2019.

“We are Deltans, we have equal rights; we are not against any quarter having projects, but the question we are asking Okowa; where are our Ijaw projects out of the 70 projects approved?”
