Deborah Abbey emerges president of Ijaw Women of America

Ijaw Women of America (IWA) on Saturday, October 29, 2022 elected Deborah Dein Abbey aka IZONTUBO, as their new President that will assist the organization pilot its affairs.

She takes over from the outgoing president of the group, Lady Eunice Bratua Apreala, who is the founder and premier National President of IWA since 2016.

GbaramatuVoice gathered that prior to the new position, Deborah has been the Public Relations Officer (PRO) and spokesperson of the group.

GbramatuVoice also learnt that Ijaw Women of America INC (IWA) is an umbrella body of both American citizens and U.S Residents of Ijaw descent.

The group also functions as a Non-Profit Organization (NGO), on a mission to liberate, educate and empower all women of Ijaw at home in Nigeria and abroad.

It also has its core objective, resolving issues that concern the progress of all Ijaw Women while upholding the rich cultural heritage of the Ijaw people.
