CEPEJ Country Director commends Okowa over upgrade of School of Marine Technology in Burutu

The Country Director and CEO of Center for Peace and Environmental Justice – CEPEJ, Chief (Comrade) Sheriff Mulade on Wednesday November 17, 2021, commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State for the upgrade and transfer of the School of Marine Technology, Burutu, from the Ministry of Transport to that of Higher Education for better management and supervision.

Chief Mulade, the Ibe-sorimowei of Gbaramatu Kingdom, in Warri South West LGA of Delta State, had earlier in the year recommended to Governor Okowa that the Marine School be upgraded and transferred to Ministry of Higher Education for proper supervision.

He described Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa as a Governor who responds to the people’s yearnings for quality education in Burutu LGA and other riverine parts of the state.

The commendation of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa followed the disclosure by the State Information Commissioner, Charles Aniagwu, on Wednesday November 17, 2021, that the State Exco had approved the transfer of the School of Marine Technology, Burutu, from the Ministry of Transport to that of Higher Education.

He strongly appealed to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to embark on a facelift project immediately in order to enable it achieve set goals as the only riverine state owned higher institution.
