Buhari welcomes Uduaghan, Akpabio to APC caucus meeting

Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, former governor of Delta state, on Tuesday attended an All Progressives Congress (APC) caucus meeting presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari.

Uduaghan is aspiring to represent Delta south senatorial zone in 2019.

He had been a member of PDP since 1998.

The meeting which started about 8:20pm is holding at the Aso Rock villa in Abuja.

The caucus is deliberating on the options of using a delegate system or direct primary system for the party’s convention.

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo, Boss Mustapha, secretary of the government of the federation (SGF); Adams Oshiomhole, APC national chairman; Bola Tinubu, a chieftain of the APC; and Bisi Akande, APC interim chairman, are all in attendance.

Also in attendance are governors Yahaya Bello of Kogi, Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano, Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos, Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo, Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa, and Simon Lalong of Plateau.

Others are Ahmed Lawan, senate leader; Godswill Akpabio, former senate minority leader; Ita Enang, aide to the president on national assembly; Rotimi Amaechi, minister of transportation; Chris Ngige, minister of labour and productivity, Femi Gbajabiamila, house of representatives leader; Segun Oni, former APC deputy national chairman (south); and Timipre Sylva, former Bayelsa governor.
