7 kingdoms to compete as Gbaramatu Amasiekumor Football Tournament begins on Monday
About seven kingdoms wil compete at the Gbaramatu Kingdom 2023 Amasiekumor Football Tournament scheduled to commence on Monday, April 10, as part of activities to spice up the ongoing festival.
The sports competition tagged: ‘Peace and unity’ will see neigbouring towns and kingdoms slug it out among themselves to carry the coveted trophy.

This development was announced in a statement to newsmen in Oporoza, headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom and signed by Hon. Kirifede o. Denyefa, the Loc chairman, and Hon. Bethue Ayetan, the Loc secretary.
According to the statement, this year’s tournamnent was approved by the Gbaramatu Youth Council (GYC) president, Comrade Shadrach Onitsha Ebikeme, who pointed out that aside the football competition, othetr activities that will spice up the festival include: tug of war, draft competition and cooking competition which is meant for ladies only.
GbaramatuVoice writes that this year’s football tournament and other activities cut across 7 kingdoms. The kingdoms are: Gbaramatu, OgbeIjoh, Ogulagha, Isaba, Egbema, Warri and Diebiri kingdoms.
