2019: You mean a lot to me – Olu of Warri tells Uduaghan

Olu of Warri, His Majesty, Ogieme Ikenwoli, has endorsed the aspirations of the immediate past governor of Delta State, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, to represent Delta South senatorial district on the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He made the endorsement when Dr. Uduaghan accompanied by some political allies like Prophet John Erhue, chairman of the Delta state chapter of the APC and Joel Onowakpor, APC House of Representatives aspirant for Isoko North among others paid him a courtesy visit in his palace in Warri on Tuesday afternoon.

Dr. Uduaghan intimated the monarch that his visit was to seek for his blessings ahead of the 2019 polls, adding that his representation will be of benefit to all the tribal groups that make up the district mainly Itsekiri, Ijaw and Isoko.

According to the former governor his visit to the monarch is to pay him homage as his son, stressing that the aspirants in Delta State are not many but few and most importantly, his son is among the few.

“I am here to pay homage as your son. We are not many but few in Delta State and most importantly your son is among them.”

He assured the Olu that he is not stupid, stressing that he knows what to do, how to do it and where to do it.

Uduaghan told the royal father that he need someone who would follow up some demand he has made earlier, stressing that those demand cannot be followed up without a genuine person there.

“I will stand on behalf of these people in Abuja because Delta cannot be in opposition any longer. I want to inform you that I want to go to Abuja not as former governor but as a senator.”

He affirmed that the monarch by tradition has many sons who are interested in the same position stressing that he knows the monarch is not a politician but would bless all of them who are interested in political office.

“I know you have many sons who are interested in going, you are not a politician but you will bless all of us but I will catch more of the blessings.”

Dr. Uduaghan disclosed that there are laws he would initiate for the benefit of everyone adding that he consulted when he was in office as a governor and would consult more when he gets to the Senate.

While responding the monarch praised the visitor for the decision he has taken adding that Uduaghan mean alot to him.

“Your decision is a good one. There is no harm in trial. I want a senator who will represent all the three ethnic groups.”
