2019: Warri South West is for PDP – Chief Ebikeme

By Shina Badmus

As part of the ongoing Okowa/Otuaro campaign in Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State, Chief Bosin Ebikeme, Special Adviser to Delta State Governor on Petroleum Matters and former Commissioner of Transport has hinted that the people of the region do not have an alternative party but would only vote for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forth coming elections.

The former commissioner who led campaign delegates to Igoba, Inikorogha and Azama communities, all of which are in Azama ward said that the opposition party which is the All Progressives  Congress (APC) is sweeping away the good of Nigeria.

He made this comment while advising the people of Azama ward during an interview with GbaramatuVoice where he said; “Broom is not an alternative. If they see broom, they should not get near broom because broom does not do anybody any good. Broom is only sweeping away our good from Nigeria and our communities.”

Ebikeme reiterated that the campaign in Azama ward was due to the fact that it is a major ward in the local government and it has large voters registered as well as a huge population.

In his words; “We believe in PDP and we have always voted for the PDP in this ward and there was need for us to come on this visit to do a house to house campaign and that is what we have been doing.

“We have a sign and the sign is the umbrella sign. It is the universal sign of the PDP and as many that will go through the ballot papers, you will see the umbrella sign and that is the only sign that you should vote and thumb print.

“If you have gone through the campaigns both the national campaign in Asaba and the state wide campaign that went to all local government headquarters, you will be convinced that in Delta we do not have any other party but the PDP.

“Even today in all the communities we went to, you find out that people came out from their various villages, their fishing camps to the various communities that we visited just to ensure that they hear the message from their party and that is the PDP.

“We are predominantly, as far as Gbaramatu, as far as Azama ward and as far as Warri South West is concerned, PDP is going to win overwhelmingly in all the elections.”

He concluded that PDP has always won all elections land slide in Delta state without any rivals and that the coming elections will be no different.

“We have agreed together collectively that our destiny is in our hand and, of course, before now and even after now that the only party that can bring succour to us is the PDP. So we have agreed to vote the PDP come February 16 and March

“In the same vein, one of the community leaders, Chief Wellington Bobo, added that the Peoples Democratic Party has been on ground long ago and it will remain the party for the local government.

While advising the people of the local government, he said, “I want the people of this ward to be focused in importance of development and not to think of the money that they would get at all given times.

“I am telling everybody in this ward to follow me as I am out now to propagate the PDP and I am convincing all of them to try PDP again.”
