2019: Warri South West group set to mobilize, ensure support for credible youths

…Releases 4 point agenda for involvement in elections

A group that described itself as a partisan political movement, targeted at ensuring that vision-driven political actors are elected into various political offices at local, state and federal level, the Warri South West Political Front (WSWPF), has promised to mobilize all levels of the political platforms to support vibrant and determined youths to succeed in their political ambitions.

In a statement issued and signed by its Chairman, Hon. Bethus Ayetan and Secretary, Comr. Wuruyai Doubra Godswill, on Tuesday, the group said; ”This becomes imperative due to the fact that Nigeria at all levels direly needs young, vibrant political elites who by their antecedent and manifestos are ready to bring about the dividends of democracy and eager to tackle the twin challenges of poverty and underdevelopment in their respective constituencies.”

“Our resolution to carry on this course is anchored on the fact that we are convinced that Nigeria’s greatest resource is its youthful population and that through their active and full participation in governance.

“Nigerians can surmount the difficulties that lie ahead – African Youth Charter (2006). This forms part of the mandate of United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs).

“With a deep membership base, WSWPF is one of the most effective political movements in Delta State, with some of the best brains, successful businessmen, Honourable, religious leaders, chiefs, technocrats and others critical stakeholders from Warri South West L.G.A extraction, as members and poised to ensure that well deserving candidates get elected into political offices, regardless of their tribe, gender and political affiliation.

“Our duty is to work for these candidates and this stance is in line with our objectives of committing all the legitimate resources at our disposal.”

To achieve its objectives, the group promised to employ the social media platforms to mobilize its community base, to support its political endeavours.

“We shall explore both online and print media to launch an issue based campaign for them. More so, we shall hit the streets on sensitization tour, orienting Nigerians on the need to choose the best leaders with their thumbs, based on clear and achievable manifestos, and not to sell their votes for crumbs.”

The group also trumped its 4-point agenda, which it said will guide its members in its activities towards the 2019 general elections.

These are; “to ensure that young, vibrant and vision-oriented leaders get our support and are elected into political offices in Warri South West Local Government Area. To be a voice for good governance before, during and after elections. To organize Warri South West L.G.A youths into an unbreakable bond, capable of determining the wave of politics in the area. To install even development and political participation.”
