16-year-old girl commits suicide in Warri by drinking ‘Sniper’ over Heartbreak

A 16-year-old girl has committed suicide after she suffered an heartbreak on Sunday morning at Arubayi Street, Warri, Delta State.

The girl who was identified as Blessing died after drinking the popular insecticide, Sniper after a breakup with her boyfriend.

A source told GbaramatuVoice that Blessing gulped a can of the infamous insecticide, Sniper.

Blessing’s body was reportedly discovered in the bathroom by neighbours who raised the alarm.
She was immediately taken to a nearby hospital where she was confirmed dead.

Sources disclosed that the deceased had unwillingly broken up with her boyfriend who was allegedly dating another girl.

It was further gathered that Blessing had always threatened to kill herself over the infidelity of her boyfriend whose name could not be ascertained by our correspondent as of the time of filing this report.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer for Delta State Command, DSP Bright Edafe, told newsmen that he was not yet aware, but promised to call back once such report gets to his desk.

It will be recall that a 23-year-old lady identified as Rejoice committed suicide in the Mpape area of the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja after drinking Sniper, a popular Insecticide in April 2020.

It was gathered that the deceased discovered that her boyfriend was having an affair with another lady and decided to take her own life out of anger.

It was also gathered that the deceased had always threatened to kill herself over the unfaithfulness of her boyfriend.

Her body was said to have been found in the bathroom and immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where she was confirmed dead on arrival.
