Mr. Jacob Abai, the publisher of GbaramatuVoice and twenty-four others were on Saturday 2nd December 2017 honoured with awards of excellence by the body of Ijaw Pastors and Ministers Fellowship (IPMF).

Bishop Dr. Samson Amajene JP+ conferred these awards of Excellent Christian Leadership to the deserving recipients during the 2017 Thanksgiving and Award giving ceremony held at the Word of Salvation Bible Life Ministries Int’l Inc. off Oru Standard Road, Effurun, Delta State.

While giving his welcome address, Bishop Amajene explained that the purpose of forming IPMF is to act as a platform to further spread the gospel of Jesus Christ within the riverine communities.

Going further, he stated that this excellent leadership award is aimed at spurring the recipients to do more, especially in the area of delivering quality leadership in line with the Christian faith.

In his words, “The Ijaw Pastors and Ministries Fellowship (IPMF), is a missionary and interdenominational agency that is taking the gospel of Jesus Christ to the creeks of the Niger Delta, with particular emphasis on the Ijaw nation.

“As we traveled around the Niger Delta, particularly the Ijaw nation there was one thing that is very prominent and that is seeing of shrines dotted every water front. This body is saddled with uprooting those shrines and replacing them with Christ,” he added.

Elder Godsday Orubebe, a guest speaker while giving a sermon titled; Evangelism, pointed out that knowing God is more important than serving God because you may serve someone without knowing who that person is. He, therefore, added that if you understand God, you will serve Him with total commitment.

Orubebe who also received an award further stated that when you engage in evangelism, you are fulfilling scriptures as stated in Matthew 24 verse 14.

Continuing, the former Minister of Niger Delta stressed that it is through evangelism that Christ will give you an open cheque before you even ask.
